Sonic Waves
Sonic Waves, is an organisation created by myself  for my final project at University. The aim of this of this brand was create awareness of noise pollution in New Zealand waters, as an attempt to combine my passion for nature with my skills as a graphic designer. The project is directed to New Zealanders aged between 18 and 24 year olds to stimulate the awareness about underwater noise in New Zealand. This NGO (non-governmental organisation) idea was to provide information on the impacts that noise pollution has on marine life, what it is caused by and how it is generated.
This project involved the process of creating a brand identity, website and a social media campaign (emojis) that would stand out from similar organisations. How I did this was by creating a youthful, fresh, mature and creative brand that has been reflected through the choice of colours and illustrations.  Each colour provides the meaning of the key themes. Orange represents creativity and turquoise represents freshness but also incorporates some element of the nature of water.  Youthfulness and matureness were shown through shading by having two options of a brighter and darker colour. The use of wavy lines throughout the brand design, reflect the meaning of the name 'Sonic Waves' meaning the speed of sound waves or audible sound.
